  • Microsoft Windows XP
  • 512 MB RAM Recommended
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0

Time Logger installation.

Uninstall

Usage

LogIt! Time Logger is a simple program to use, so no lengthy manual is necessary.  Here is a breakdown of program functionality.

Using LogIt! could not be any easier. The application will run silently in the background and then display a window every hour asking you to log your time. You will know LogIt! is running because the LogIt! icon will show in the system tray.

To show the LogIt! Time Logger screen at any time, simply double-click the LogIt! icon in the system tray.

Log Entries

When you make a log entry, all four elements are required:

Project / Company
Enter the name of the project and/or company. You can type anything in the box, or choose from the dropdown list. When you make a new entry, it will be available in the dropdown list thereafter.
Code
Enter any code you wish to categorize the time spent on this project or company for this entry, or choose a code from the dropdown list. When you make a new entry, it will be available in the dropdown list thereafter. The codes are associated with the project/company. So, when the project/company field changes, the appropriate codes are loaded in the code dropdown list.
Notes
Enter any text you want here to annotate the time spent.
Hours
Enter the time spent on each task here in hours. Precision to two decimals can be entered. Notice at the top of the screen (unless this is the first entry you have made since starting LogIt!) - the time elapsed since your last log entry will show and the boxes will be pre-filled with the elapsed time in the same proportion as the last entries. This is a very nice time saving feature.

Modifying Log Entries

To modify past entries, simply choose the menu item 'Modify Log Entries'. A calendar will appear asking you to choose the date you want to modify. Click the date for which you want to modify entries and then click the OK button. The screen will load the entries for that date and allow you modify or add new entries. To remove an entry, simply enter 0 as the hours for that entry.

LogIt! Time Logger Reports

LogIt! Time Logger reports are simple and very powerful. Simply click the 'Reports' menu item. A set of calendars will appear, one for the start date and the other for the end date of the report period. Choose the appropriate dates and click the 'Generate Report' button.

The report will show the following:

  • The reporting period begin and end dates.
  • For each day in the period, the sum of hours for each project/customer and code combination, and the total hours for that day.
