LogIt! Time Logger Screen Shots

The LogIt! Main Screen

The LogIt! Time Logger main screen is where all the activity with the program starts.  This is the screen that will appear automatically every hour after LogIt! is started.   Take note of the following items that will help logging your time be virtually painless:

  • Once an entry is input for either the Project/Customer or Code field, it is remembered by the program and can be chosen from the dropdown thereafter.
  • Putting a new entry in means nothing more than typing it in the existing box over whatever is there.
  • After an entry is made, the next time the window appears, the fields are prefilled with the most recent entries and the hours are filled in proportionately based on the last entries.  This means that if you were doing pretty much the same thing, all you have to do is press the 'Log These Entries' button and you are done.  The elapsed time is automatically entered in the hours field.
  • The number of hours elapsed since the last log entry and the total hours unnaccounted for in the currently showing log entries is shown in the upper middle of the form.
  • There is an 'Ask Me Later' button to make the dialog go away if you are too busy to deal with it at the current time.

The Report Dates Screen

The Report Dates Screen appears when the Reports menu item is clicked.

The report will summarize the log entries daily, aggregating the hours per day based on Project/Customer and Code combinations.  At the bottom of the report, totals are broken down for the entire period by Project/Customer and Code combination, for each Project/Customer, and for each Code.

The report can be printed from this screen or saved to an HTML file.
